I’ve been working within the security industry for nearly 30 years, gaining experience across operational security, close protection, training and quality assurance.

Throughout my career, I’ve worked in a wide range of security environments, from frontline operations and close protection to designing and delivering accredited training programmes for both public and private sector organisations. This operational background allows me to bring real-world experience into every course, consultation and quality assurance activity.

One area that has remained a constant throughout my career is my passion for personal safety, self-protection and combatives. I have spent many years developing my knowledge and skills in these disciplines, training with some of the industry's most respected instructors and continually investing in my own professional development. I firmly believe that effective personal protection isn't about complex techniques or bravado. It's about awareness, sound decision-making and practical skills that work under pressure. That philosophy underpins both my operational approach and the way I deliver training.

As a qualified trainer and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA), I’m passionate about raising standards within the security industry. Whether I’m supporting a training provider with compliance, delivering engaging scenario-based learning, or helping develop new training programmes, my focus is always the same: delivering practical, professional solutions that genuinely add value.

I established ES Training & Consultancy to provide flexible, high-quality support to organisations that require experienced training, quality assurance or security consultancy without the commitment of a full-time resource. I take pride in building long-term relationships through professionalism, reliability and a straightforward approach to every project.

I believe the strongest training comes from combining operational experience, technical knowledge and a genuine passion for continuous improvement. Whether I'm delivering a classroom session, coaching learners through practical scenarios or supporting a training provider behind the scenes, my aim is always to leave people more capable, more confident and better prepared than when they arrived.
